Erika joined PFS in 2021 as a Program Officer I and became a Program Officer II in 2022. She is excited to support the diverse program areas funded by PFS client foundations and to elevate the work of local nonprofits in the Bay Area and beyond.
Prior to joining PFS, Erika was the Community Initiatives Manager at the Community Foundation for Monterey County where she led the COVID-19 Collaborative, 2020 Census grantmaking, and oversaw grantmaking in children & youth development, community development, environment and animal welfare. She also implemented the Neighborhood Grants program to support grassroots leadership development and strengthened Latinx philanthropy by leading a fund committed to celebrating and honoring Latinx giving.
In addition to her foundation work, Erika has extensive program management experience and a strong background in collaborative funding efforts in the areas of youth development, leadership and advocacy. She enjoys giving back by volunteering at local nonprofits, facilitating strategic sessions to support community-led projects and mentoring first-generation students.
Erika has a BA in Global & International Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters in Global & International Development from Roskilde University in Denmark and Leipzig University in Germany. She enjoys practicing her Italian, traveling, baking, reading and kickboxing.
