Nelson joined PFS in May 2024 as a Foundation Accountant, a role involving operational and administrative accounting responsibilities. PFS is Nelson’s first role in the philanthropic sector and is excited about the prospect of working towards greater social change.

Prior to PFS, Nelson conducted both general ledger and operational/administrative accounting for Imperfect Foods, a Bay Area-based B-Corp, whose mission is to reduce food waste. He recognizes similar ethical commitments amongst PFS client foundations. Nelson has also worked in the spirits industry and can make a mean cocktail!

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, he graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a BA in Communications. If not traveling, Nelson spends his free time enjoying the outdoors with long hikes or even longer park days. Music is a constant obsession, which he channels by attending concerts of all genres and as a self-proclaimed horror movie buff, Nelson’s favorite holiday is proudly Halloween.
